How Can a Painful Bump On The Upper Lip Be Treated?

I've had a tiny bump on the inside of my upper lip, not sure how long it's been there but the past 2 weeks it's been bothering me and irritating me. It doesn't seem like it's getting bigger just feels like it is bigger when I keep messing with it. It seems to blend in with my lip color and appears somewhat white when I hold my fingers together to pinch it. What could this possibly be?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It can be most probably a mucous cyst or a mucocele..
It is harmless and mostly self limiting and gets resolved on.its own..
It occurs due to either blocked duct of the salivary gland or damage to minor salivary gland due to trauma..
You can start gargling with concentrated salt water solution as it helps in shrinkage of the lump..
If the lump does not get better then surgery removal.of the gland itself can help in.permanent resolution..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
